About Me

Hi I'm Sara Long a South Carolina Native who loves to capture each moment to tell the story of not only people and architecture which captures the moments in time where we can always look back on and remember not only our loved ones but places that are close to the heart as well.

As a photographer who wants to capture moments and places to be forever treasured I am still working on my niche as I love to photograph various things.

For architecture it is about capturing the detail and history of a place to give a person a feeling of home and awe of the details on the celling for example to remind you a place you once visited as a child. As well as the outside which conveys a feeling of a country home to a mansion of refined taste. Architecture is not only a home or business but has a feeling to which is inviting and inspiring .

For the couples that I have photographed I work with them on their vision and do not set a time limit as I feel it sets a restriction on capturing the raw and beautiful moments to which are unscripted . To the nervous couples this gives time to relax and just be in the moment with no time constraints.

For the weddings I have photographed learning the shot list of every bride is slightly different as this is okay for any bride I highly encourage it . There are some shots that the bride or groom want's to skip on and that is okay it is your day. For instance in my wedding I want a first look of just me and the groom many brides want variations of this as to not doing one entirely .

For the landscapes I capture are my way of capturing the scenery before it is gone. I want to capture it as a way to escape into it to be in awe of the beauty around us everyday. A simple beach photo can add to any house décor as a print but the feeling of a relaxing sunset with the sand and rolling waves and warm lighting can put your mind at ease and give a sense of something else entirely. As each photograph I not only want to capture it but want to give a sense of emotion as well.

For pets they are very fun to photograph as each one reacts differently to showing each of their personalities . Some are shy as my Macie is but still working on her coming out of the shy shell when the camera is out. Some are goofy and rambunctious but that is what treats and toys are for getting their attention to capture their beauty and personalities. We all know the fur babies are apart of the family.

One of my favorite quotes by Ansel Adams:

"A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety."
- Ansel Adams
